How to Set App Battery Usage to Unrestricted

Because Android device manufacturers (like Samsung, Google, Xiaomi, and OnePlus) customize their menus, the exact wording might vary slightly, but this path will work for the vast majority of Android phones.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Open Device Settings: Open the Settings app on your phone. You can usually find this in your app drawer or by swiping down from the top of your screen and tapping the gear icon.
  2. Navigate to Apps: Scroll down and tap on Apps, Apps & notifications, or App Management.
Note: You may need to tap an additional option like See all apps or Manage apps to view your full list of installed applications.
  3. Select Manawa Pace: Scroll through the list or use the search icon at the top. Tap on the app name to open its App info page.
  4. Find the Battery Settings: Scroll down on the App info page and tap on Battery or App battery usage.
  5. Choose "Unrestricted": You will typically see three options (Unrestricted, Optimized, and Restricted). Select Unrestricted.
Note: On some devices, this might be labeled as Don't optimize or No restrictions.

Common Brand Variations

Why do this?

Setting an app to "Unrestricted" prevents the Android operating system from putting the app to sleep in the background. Just keep in mind that this may slightly increase your device's overall battery drain.
